Summary: Diego makes a meager wage by stealing ancient Incan artifacts from archeological sites and then selling them on the black market to tourists. Although he has become an expert on Incan culture, he is constantly at risk of being caught or killed.

Diego meets Gregor, a collector of Incan artifacts – legal and illegal. He recognizes Diego’s talent and offers him a large sum of money to retrieve the Viracocha – an ancient object reputed to have supernatural power. Initially Diego refuses, but when he runs into an old girlfriend, Catalina, who is now in high society and out of reach, he decides to accept the commission to try to get into her league.

Diego pieces together the clues to the Viracocha’s whereabouts with Catalina’s help. As they get closer to the physical artifact, they get closer emotionally. Catalina discovers that Gregor’s intentions are nefarious; Diego builds a fake Viracocha, sells it to Gregor and takes off with the real thing.

When Gregor discovers the ruse, he sends his goons off to find and capture Diego and Catalina. Diego is forced to return the real Viracocha and, Gregor uses it to attack the Capitol building. The military is incapable of stopping the awesome power which can rip through buildings, fighter jets and tanks. Catalina and Diego go after Gregor and exploit his weaknesses allowing them to destroy the device and kill Gregor.

Diego returns to his passion of immersing himself in Incan culture, only now working as a tour guide in one of the sites he used to pilfer and with Catalina waiting for him at the end of the day.
