The hummingbird - one of the recurring images thoughout Stealing from the Gods - is 165 feet (about 50 meters) long and can only be seen from the air! Viewed from the ground, they are little more than scrapes of black volcanic stone exposing the yellow sand beneath.

The monkey pictured below is at least 400 feet long and 300 feet wide - amazing when you consider that there were no airplanes or mountaintops to check if the lines were forming the intended design. In fact, no one even noticed the lines were designs until the 20th century and the advent of human flight.

No one knows who built the lines, for what purpose or how old they are.
